Make Your New Year’s Eve Party Unique By Baking Our Home-made Easy Savoury Snacks.
Cheese Biscuit Recipe From Scratch.
Are you tired of salty crisps, different crackers from the shop. You can try these ones. They are great to eat on their own or even better with cheese. They make a perfect party snack, as they’re simple to create and can be done fine in advance. You can also add some herbs, or a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese before baking!
80g plain flour, plus extra for kneading and rolling out
80g unsalted butter, softened
80g grated Parmesan cheese or any cheese you have in the fridge
1 separated egg
sesame, sunflower, golden linseeds to sprinkle
Rub the flour, salt and butter together until the mixture forms fine crumbs. Add the egg yolk and cheese, and combine adding a little more olive oil if necessary to make a soft dough. Shape the mix into a ball, wrap up in cling film and cool at least for 1 hour in the fridge. Preheat the oven to 150 C / Gas 2. Grease a baking tray or line with baking parchment. Roll out the dough 5mm thick on a floured surface and cut out biscuits using different shapes of cutter. Lift the biscuits onto the baking tray. Whisk the egg white with a fork until frothy then brush over the tops of the biscuits and sprinkle with sesame, sunflower or golden linseeds. Bake for 20 minutes or until pale golden. Cool on the sheet until cold and store in an airtight container.
